Obedience Is Better Than Sacrifice

Often times we hear something from God and because it's uncomfortable or not in alignment with what we want or have planned for our lives... we just ignore it. Or...sometimes we know it's God calling us to do something and instead of listening to God we listen to outside influence. Like our friends or family.

I can remember when God told me to move from Los Angeles to Atlanta. It didn't make any sense at all. I had a job in LA (at a church) and no job or plan in Atlanta. I shared my thoughts with a friend and I remember her saying "that sounds crazy" and I just let it go. Clearly my faith was a little shaky lol --I allowed her opinion and my fear to stop me from listening to God's direction. Ultimately I put my faith in God and 4 years later I'm in Atlanta living on purpose.

Now there is a LOTTTTTT that happened in the midst of the 4 years - and it ain't always been pretty lol but the journey has done nothing but strengthen my faith. I can't imagine what life would be like if I would've continued to be disobedient. So I share that story to say -- no matter where you are in your life right now ... maybe God has been calling you to move, start a business, or quit that job etc. Maybe you have been hesitant because things just don't make sense.

We often get in trouble because we can't stay out of God's business. You are NOT supposed to be worried about the "how" you just need to trust God enough to do what he is calling you to do and the provision will be met. That means if God is calling you to write a book -- you don't have to sit around worrying about who will publish it... will people actually buy it...how many chapters you need....what will the cover look like....YOU JUST NEED TO START WRITING!

You don't know what tomorrow, next week, or next year will bring. You need to be obedient TODAY! What has God been calling you to do that you've been ignoring?
